STRIVONEX · RESPONSIBLE AI

We believe AI should help people, not replace them.

At Strivonex, we’ve built the AI Basket Builder around transparency, retailer control and responsible innovation. This page explains how our AI works, what data it uses and the principles that guide every feature we develop.

Responsible AI & Data Use Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

At Strivonex, we believe artificial intelligence should enhance human decision-making, not replace it.

The Strivonex AI Basket Builder (“AIBB”) has been designed to help independent retailers provide better customer experiences through intelligent product recommendations, conversational shopping and automated assistance.

This policy explains how AI is used within the platform, what information it may process and the principles that guide our approach to responsible AI.

1. Our AI Philosophy

Our AI exists to support retailers, not replace them.

The AIBB is designed to:

  • Improve customer service.
  • Help customers discover suitable products.
  • Increase basket values through relevant recommendations.
  • Simplify Click & Collect.
  • Reduce repetitive administrative tasks.
  • Support independent retailers with modern technology.

Retailers remain responsible for their businesses, products, pricing and customer service.

2. How We Use AI

The AI Basket Builder may use artificial intelligence to:

Customer Conversations

Answer customer questions about products, availability and collections.

Product Recommendations

Recommend complementary products based on the retailer’s catalogue and customer requests.

Basket Building

Suggest additional products that naturally complement a customer’s shopping basket.

Recommendations are intended to be relevant rather than intrusive.

Dietary Assistance

Where retailers provide dietary information, the AI may assist customers in finding products that match their stated dietary preferences.

The AI relies entirely on information supplied by the retailer.

Product Content

Retailers may choose to use AI to:

  • improve product descriptions
  • rewrite text
  • generate product imagery
  • assist with content creation

These features are optional.

Retailers remain responsible for reviewing all generated content before publishing.

Operational Assistance

AI may assist retailers with:

  • identifying missing information
  • highlighting opportunities
  • suggesting improvements
  • supporting product management

3. How AI Uses Information

The AI may process information including:

  • product information
  • shop opening hours
  • collection availability
  • uploaded descriptions
  • pricing
  • categories
  • customer questions
  • order requests

The AI only processes information required to deliver the requested functionality.

4. What the AI Does Not Do

The Strivonex AI Basket Builder does not:

  • make legal decisions
  • make financial decisions
  • replace retailer judgement
  • override retailer settings
  • automatically change prices
  • automatically publish products
  • automatically modify stock
  • invent products that do not exist

Retailers remain in full control of their shop.

5. Human Oversight

Retailers remain responsible for:

  • product accuracy
  • pricing
  • allergens
  • dietary information
  • collection availability
  • business decisions
  • customer communications

AI suggestions should always be reviewed where appropriate.

6. Accuracy

Although we work continuously to improve our AI systems, no AI system is perfect.

Responses may occasionally:

  • misunderstand customer intent
  • provide incomplete information
  • require clarification
  • make unsuitable recommendations if incorrect product data has been uploaded

Retailers should ensure their product catalogue remains accurate and up to date.

7. Responsible Recommendations

Our recommendation systems are designed to provide genuinely helpful suggestions.

They are intended to:

  • improve customer experiences
  • recommend relevant products
  • support local retailers
  • encourage thoughtful upselling

The AI is not designed to manipulate or pressure customers into unnecessary purchases.

8. Retailer Responsibility

Retailers are responsible for ensuring that information uploaded into the platform is accurate, including:

  • prices
  • product descriptions
  • ingredients
  • allergens
  • dietary information
  • stock availability
  • collection times

The AI can only work with the information provided.

9. Customer Data

Customer information processed through conversations may be used solely for providing the requested service.

This may include:

  • answering questions
  • building shopping baskets
  • arranging collections
  • completing purchases

Customer conversations are not used to advertise unrelated products or services.

10. Data Security

Information processed through AI features benefits from the same security measures applied throughout the Strivonex platform.

These include:

  • encrypted connections
  • secure cloud infrastructure
  • authenticated access
  • role-based permissions
  • continuous monitoring

11. AI Providers

Strivonex may use trusted third-party AI technologies to provide certain features.

These providers are selected based on:

  • security
  • reliability
  • performance
  • compliance
  • responsible AI practices

Where third-party AI providers process information on our behalf, they do so under appropriate contractual and legal safeguards.

12. Continuous Improvement

We continually improve our AI systems to provide:

  • better recommendations
  • improved conversations
  • more accurate responses
  • enhanced retailer tools
  • improved customer experiences

Updates may improve functionality without changing the core purpose of the platform.

13. Ethical AI Principles

The Strivonex AI Basket Builder is developed in accordance with the following principles.

Human First

Retailers remain in control of all important business decisions.

Transparency

We aim to explain clearly when AI is being used and how it contributes to platform features.

Privacy

AI processing should use only the information necessary to provide the requested service.

Security

Protecting retailer and customer information remains a priority throughout the platform.

Fairness

Recommendations are intended to be relevant and useful rather than misleading or discriminatory.

Accountability

Strivonex accepts responsibility for maintaining and improving the AI systems we provide.

Retailers remain responsible for the information they publish and the decisions they make.

As the platform evolves, new AI capabilities may include:

  • seasonal product recommendations
  • stock forecasting
  • intelligent merchandising
  • customer purchasing insights
